• What to visit

Chenzhou is located in the southwest region of Hunan Province, Changsha, the capital city is about 350 kilometers away.
The population in the urban centre is about 1 million people and this city received a quite big incentive to develop after the launch of the Wuhan – Guangzhou highs speed train line, opened in 4008.
This is the hometown of special and open-minded person. She’s the reason i started to travel and a life partner.
Here it’s possible to cherish some chinese activity after dinner (kind of 太極 Tàijí), an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training, its health benefits and meditation. The difference between an internal and external martial art is the focus, placed into the single person and meditation for the internal, and in other physiological aspects for the external martial arts (e.g. 少林功夫 Shàolín gōng fu). I also attended the finishing jobs into an apartment places in a high tower (>25 floors) in the city center. China is entering into the idea of an harmonious synergy between the man made building and the nature: the vertical constructions are a warranty of minimal environment ruin and the presence of a well-finished park helps the people to escape from the grayness of the surroung buildings and clouds.
China is growing, also in this way.
In any case it’s necessary to say that the jobs have been made in a raised platform compared to the street, a kind of hiding of the past conditions of the area, actually not so modern.
The area is located at 25.774835° 113.017110°, if you want to have a look.
Keep in mind Google maps are not entirely overlapping with the satellite images.
五岭阁 Wǔlǐnggé is the local pagoda styled building. It’s around 66m tall and it’s possible to have an astonishing view over the city.
In the top are availble yoga lessons, good for body and spirit.

• Hot to get here

Guizhou is the principal hub of the region. You can arrive here by car, ferry, flight, etc…
I’ve been served by the 高铁 (gaotie) network airport starting from Guangzhou South Station.

• Notes

Chenzhou is situated in the subtropical monsoon climate zone, and the weather is humid. Spring usually comes early and the weather is unstable. Summer is long and hot, while it is clear and dry in autumn. A chilly period in winter is relatively shorter.
